Ever since this new plug-in update i am not able to edit my website. The happiness engineer said it was an issue with this plug-in update. Have tried to contact Joe via the forum but no response. Am going to cancel my Wordpress account if I can't get this fixed.
Very impressed with this plugin. We use it for ticketing to events and a visitor attraction. It's easy to set up a new event, set different prices for different categories of visitors, get reports on how many have booked in. We use the Stripe add-on, so money goes straight into the bank account, less Stripe's fees of course. On the gate, the QR code scanning works perfectly, and the system can be accessed on a phone - if someone has booked their ticket while waiting in the queue, you can get into the system in real time and check what they have booked. We did have some problems in the early stages with some software bugs, but Joe gives exemplary support - he gets back to you quickly, and because he built the system he know the issues and context.
It might be nice to have easy ways to customize the appearance of the tickets sent out, and of other messages, but this is a trivial detail - other systems are weighed down with stupid eye-candy that does not improve the functionality, but leaves lots of places for bugs to lurk.
I have been testing various ticketing plugins, My Tickets really stands out. Lightweight, well thought out, simple but with the right features. Great work.
Taxes is the only option missing for me. I need two different ones. I will include taxes in the total price and have succeeded in displaying tax details in the receipt template by including some of the functions found in mt-templating.php.
A minor improvement would be currency symbol positioning, as I need the dollar symbol to be placed after the amount with a space (French standard). Overriding currency symbol by manual input would also be useful (for CAD, 'C $' is confusing for my users, just need '$').
Thanks a lot for the development of this nice plugin, it helps solve my demands for event management once and for all. I have downloaded many other event management plugins, but for the registration, especially the bar code email notification part, every plugin will ask for premium upgrades. Although I fully support that every developer should get paid for their work, but they should state it clearly in their plugin introduction. But for My Tickets, what it can do is exactly what it states in the description. JOE DOLSON, Thanks for your great work.
This is a very powerful plugin, but it is not well documented, and while the support from the developer is timely, it is somewhat terse, and directed towards folks who can code their fixes, not end users who only know how to "configure."
If you can use this plugin out of the box, you will love it. I got this system up and running in no time, and it works great for basic ticket sales.
If you are a php coder looking for a system you can customize easily, you will also love this product, I think you can do just about anything with it if you are a programmer.
However, if you are a power user used to "configuring" extra functionality or tweaking features using a powerful admin interface, then you will be disappointed and frustrated with this plugin.
For example, do you want to collect some information about your ticket buyer aside from just a name and email? Maybe ask them their nickname? Every other ticket plug-in has an easy to use admin page where you simply insert a field using a wysiwyg editor, or are presented with an array of pre-defined fields (first name, last name, full name, address, city, state, phone, email, etc, etc) with show/hide/required boxes alongside them.
Well with this plugin, you can't add any extra fields without having to hand edit php files.
This makes lots of sense if you are a coder at heart (after all, why try to guess at all the possible fields a user might want, right?) But as an end user, you are not going to be very happy having to touch php files just to add a ticket buyer's zip code. There is a happy medium here, and this plugin has not found it yet.
The documentation appears ok at first look, but if you have a question, you will quickly find it is incomplete. It was clearly written by the developer without any input from an end-user, which will keep those middle users who need to do more than out of the box ticketing from embracing this product.
Still - while I may not even end up using this plugin, as I do not want to have to customize and maintain php files for the sites I manage, I will still give it 5 stars, because I think it is powerfully extensible, in the right hands. Just beware, this is not a plugin for everyone.
Fantastic plugin. Packed full of features. Everything you need out of the box, all bases covered. Simple setup, works like a dream. Many thanks Joe!

This is such a great Plugin. Get ticket sales set up in next to no time with great functions and so easy to use.
We are a sports club run a few Charity events each year. We got caught out by a general ticket sales site thinking it was a one off fee which ended up being monthly, so we had to pay from putting tickets online until the actual event, then cancelled.
This has just as many functions and means more can go to Charity. We've even now started using this to sort out our Club sports events when we have limited capacity.
Great reports, easy to add new events and fantastic, very prompt response from Joe for any questions.
I'm fairly new to filters and hooks but the documentation and a few pointers mean we've got our site behaving just how we wanted.
Impossible to fault
